Week VI, Thanksgiving to God

Lift up a shout of praise to the God who gives us victory! Make a habitation for His glorious presence with your praises and celebration. Aggressively give thanks and praise Him for His victory! Bless the Lord and begin to enumerate His exceedingly abundant blessings, expressing gratitude for His goodness and mercy toward us.

  • Psalm 22:3 “Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.”
  • Psalm 106:1, “O give thanks to the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.”
  • Isaiah 58:6, 8, “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? …Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.'”

Devotional: Thanksgiving to God

As we conclude our prayer focus, we turn our hearts to thanksgiving, recognizing and celebrating God’s faithfulness and blessings.

Scripture

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” – Psalm 100:4-5 (ESV)

Reflection

Gratitude is a powerful spiritual practice that shifts our focus from our problems to God’s provision. As we reflect on the past weeks of prayer, let’s cultivate a heart of thanksgiving for what God has done and what He is yet to do.

As we give thanks this week, let’s focus on:

  • Recognizing God’s faithfulness in our personal lives
  • Celebrating answers to prayer, both big and small
  • Expressing gratitude for God’s presence and guidance
  • Praising God for His character and attributes

Prayer

Gracious God, our hearts overflow with thanksgiving for Your goodness and mercy. We praise You for Your faithfulness to us and to all generations. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for working in ways we can see and in ways we cannot. We bless Your holy name and declare that You alone are worthy of all praise. May our lives be a continual offering of thanksgiving to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Step

This week, start a gratitude journal. Each day, write down at least three things you’re thankful for. At the end of the week, share some of these blessings with others, testifying to God’s goodness in your life.
